December 1st, 2008Sneaky Article Marketing Tips
September 25th, 2008There are three pieces of the puzzle that you’ll need to know to make your article marketing work.
1. You’ll need to make sure the keyword you’ve chosen is profitable.
Getting traffic to a keyword is fun, but it’s pointless if the people searching for that term won’t actually buy anything.
So here are two ways to make sure that you’ve chosen a “buyer’s keyword”.
a) The Hard Way: Type the keyword into Google. Look to the right. Are people advertising there?
If so, write down what their ads say exactly.
Continue to spy on the advertisers there for a month. If they are still there, you can be quite sure they are making money placing their ads on that keyword. They pay per click, and they wouldn’t be just throwing money down the toilet for a month if the clicks on that keyword didn’t turn into sales.
b) The Easy Way:
Same concept. Faster way to get your intelligence.
Go to a site called www.spyfu.com and type in the keyword you are thinking of targeting.
Look below and you will see ads. I can prove this to you if you’d like, but for now you’ll just have to take more word for it that those ads that you see are ONE MONTH OLD. Are you getting the trick now?
Now that you know that those ads are a month old go back to Google, see if you see ads that are the same or very similar. If you do, it’s a winner. If you don’t it isn’t.
It’s just that simple folks.
2. Write a Persuasive Resource Box
It’s not enough just to put a link back to your site in the resource box. You need to give your article viewers a DARN good reason for clicking on that link. And you need to give them a darn good reason for clicking on it RIGHT NOW! Tell the some of the major and immediate benefits they’ll get from going to your site and grabbing that free report (or sample ebook) that you offer. Don’t interrupt your article with the resource box.
Let the resource box look like a continuation of the article so people read right into your pitch (it’s against the rules of EzineArticles.com to mention your website in the body of the article…this is the way around that).
3. Have a Great Title
If your title stinks, why would anyone click on it in the first place.
People love lists e.g. top 5 ways to cure acne IMMEDIATELY!
People also love a little controversy e.g. This Shocking Secret to Weight Loss Will Furiate the “Experts”
People also love something newsworthy e.g. Breaktrough Technique Discovered That Will Eliminate Weeds Forever.
Hope you enjoyed this short free training on this fantastic free way to get traffic to your website.

Was it too advanced? Too basic? Just right?

The Most Profitable Profession - Part 2
September 18th, 2008Below you’ll find Part 1of this article. Read that first.
The second fact of business that you need to know is: you can only make money if you do something other people don’t want to do themselves.
Think about it. You could do the drycleaning yourself, but you don’t want to be in that business so you outsource it. A lot of people feel the same way so drycleaners do pretty well on the whole.
That’s just the way an economy works.
The saying goes “if you want to make a living, do something others want to do, if you want to make a fortune, done something NOBODY wants to do”.
So The more undesirable a thing is to do…by definition the more people are willing to pay for it.
In other words the more you do something that’s a real pain in the butt for others, the more money you’ll make.
Let’s see how this applies to what we said about sales being the highest paid profession once you get good at it.
What is the kind of sales people HATE doing the most?
Answer: Door to door sales.
The fact is nobody really does door to door sales anymore but Girlscouts and Boyscouts and other kids trying to make some money to fund their extracurricullar activities.
Now this is really going to flip your lid.
Did you know that these Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who really hustle bring in about $500-$1,000
in sales per week! And they only work evenings. Imagine what would happen if you did it full time!
The reason is because nobody else wants to do door to door sales, so there is virtually no competition.
A face to face interaction is free (if you’re on foot) and has the most powerful impact on the prosepect than anything else really can accomplish. Letters get thrown away, phone calls get hung up on, but it’s a lot harder to slam a door in someone’s actual face.
It’s no wonder that the very few people who do go knocking on doors for a living are often making up upwards of $1,000 per day.
Door to door sales are powerful and the field is completely wide open.
Now I know what you’re thinking. You don’t want to do door to door sales either.
But consider a few things. It’s not necessarily residential door to door sales. It’s also business to business.
It means doors of businesses, churches, government agencies, and anywhere a possible buyer can be found
Also consider that you don’t even need to do it yourself.
You can hire kids or whoever you want to do the job for you. Their work pays for itself. You could even pay them on a commission only basis.
All you really need to get started is a product and you will need to sell the salespeople you’ll hire on the idea of doing the job for you.
In the next post let’s talk about how this might work in a real life example.
The Most Profitable Profession
September 18th, 2008I was just reading a report by someone I admire greatly and he was talking about the most profitable profession.
I guarantee it’s not what you think. If you guessed doctor lawyer or even hedgefund manager you are all dead wrong.
The highest paid profession is….drum roll please…..
SALES!
What?!
Sales is the highest paid profession?!??!?!
It’s true.
Let me shock you even more. Door to door sales is probably the easiest and most profitable business you can possibly start right now.
You probably think of a sales job as a last resort. The bottom of the totem pole. Door to door sales is even lower.
But you need to understand some thing about business to understand why this is the case.
Fact #1: Nobody makes any money until somebody sells something.
Every millionere alive today is involved in some sort of selling. It’s the engine that makes the economy run.
Even doctors and lawyers are in sales, they sell services!
You might think that the owner of Wal-Mart became wealthy by owning a popular chain of stores. Not true.
OWNING something doens’t make anyone any money. Only SELLING something does.
This really applies to every aspect of the business world.
So why do salesmen get such a bad rap?
Well the problem is that most salesmen are rank amatuers. Did you know that on average 20% of salesmen bring in 80% of the companies’ sales?
Most people look at sales as a career and not a ticket to great wealth, and therefore they never really take their sales the next level. They read the script and never really think about starting their own company, outsourcing, leverage, scaling and all those other goodies.
But sales still remains the highest paid profession for those who have studies its ways and have become PROFESSIONAL salesmen.
I recommend you become one too!
In the next post we’ll cover another fact of business and how you can profit from it.
