Sneaky Article Marketing Tips
September 25th, 2008There are three pieces of the puzzle that you’ll need to know to make your article marketing work.
1. You’ll need to make sure the keyword you’ve chosen is profitable.
Getting traffic to a keyword is fun, but it’s pointless if the people searching for that term won’t actually buy anything.
So here are two ways to make sure that you’ve chosen a “buyer’s keyword”.
a) The Hard Way: Type the keyword into Google. Look to the right. Are people advertising there?
If so, write down what their ads say exactly.
Continue to spy on the advertisers there for a month. If they are still there, you can be quite sure they are making money placing their ads on that keyword. They pay per click, and they wouldn’t be just throwing money down the toilet for a month if the clicks on that keyword didn’t turn into sales.
b) The Easy Way:
Same concept. Faster way to get your intelligence.
Go to a site called www.spyfu.com and type in the keyword you are thinking of targeting.
Look below and you will see ads. I can prove this to you if you’d like, but for now you’ll just have to take more word for it that those ads that you see are ONE MONTH OLD. Are you getting the trick now?
Now that you know that those ads are a month old go back to Google, see if you see ads that are the same or very similar. If you do, it’s a winner. If you don’t it isn’t.
It’s just that simple folks.
2. Write a Persuasive Resource Box
It’s not enough just to put a link back to your site in the resource box. You need to give your article viewers a DARN good reason for clicking on that link. And you need to give them a darn good reason for clicking on it RIGHT NOW! Tell the some of the major and immediate benefits they’ll get from going to your site and grabbing that free report (or sample ebook) that you offer. Don’t interrupt your article with the resource box.
Let the resource box look like a continuation of the article so people read right into your pitch (it’s against the rules of EzineArticles.com to mention your website in the body of the article…this is the way around that).
3. Have a Great Title
If your title stinks, why would anyone click on it in the first place.
People love lists e.g. top 5 ways to cure acne IMMEDIATELY!
People also love a little controversy e.g. This Shocking Secret to Weight Loss Will Furiate the “Experts”
People also love something newsworthy e.g. Breaktrough Technique Discovered That Will Eliminate Weeds Forever.

Was it too advanced? Too basic? Just right?
